What are you going to read over the holiday?

Not sure what to read over the holiday? Here are some lists of great books to get you started.

These lists are compiled by teachers, librarians, and other experts in children's literature. They are to be taken as guides to interesting titles not as school endorsed must-read lists. Every child has different abilities and interest so please use these lists as starting point to help your child choose a book in which he or she can escape or learn something new.
Enjoy!

What should I read over the holiday?

Looking for book recommendations for December holiday reading? Look no further than here!

This playlist has links to 2013 Best Of lists for the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the US. PLus, look here for the 2013 - 2014 Red Dot Shortlists, suggestions for books about December holidays, and suggestions for reluctant readers.

*For some reason, the playlist is taking a long time to load. Be patient or try this link.

Season's Readings! What to read over the holiday

A few people have asked for recommendations of what to read during the holidays. Here are some lists with many titles to choose from.

Common Sense Media has a bunch of lists. Most of which you can search by age range.

Check out this MentorMob playlist for links to a variety of lists. This is my first time using MentorMob to put together resources. Let me know what you think.

Goodreads for Read Alouds

Many people have asked me for recommendations of great read alouds for their classes.

I've just started using Goodreads to share lists with you for read aloud recommendations. So far, I have started lists for grades 1-5. These are novels not picture books. Have a look and, of course, feel free to share your favorites with me and I'll add them.
